"of love and transformers" @ 2:07 AM
Mum and I were at the dining table talking when I stated that there is no such thing as
equal parental love in this world. What with the 4 of us siblings, this rings true especially in my family. Mum was just about agree-ing and began talking about how she spent the most time loving kor and paying attention to his growing up simply because he had a 5 years advantage before the rest of us did, when kor stepped into our conversation.
It probably never occured to him, the non-existence of an equal parental love. Being the first child who grew up so much faster than the rest of us, kor never quite had the chance to see it.
I guess.
So I got around explaining it simply to him. Say a family of many kids, like ours. The first comes along and there's a huge jubilation over the newborn. Everyone fusses the child mightily because the child is the first for the couple. You are overjoyed at the first spoken words, freak out at every step fallen and such. You know how first time parents are like. But come the 4th, 5th, or 6th baby, well, its like a well rehersed drama play. And it kinda goes on even as the siblings grow up. Most of us know what that's like. Not that there is any less love, just the span of attention.
Though I didn't exactly explain it to him in that many words.
So he nods and mutters, well thats just like me and my Transformers collection. He goes on to explain that exhilirating joy he experienced upon purchasing his first Transformer, (I think it was a Megatron) and the difference in affection for the following figurines that he came to add to the collection.
wtf
Well, I guess... his perspective of appreciation is somewhat on a different wavelength... as long as he gets the point la. :D
Lol. Boys and their toys.
