After a rough hour of trek uphill most of the way whilst battling the insane amount of hungry leeches and thorny forestry, the orang asli guide led us to a spot where we found 2 beautiful flowers in full bloom, in the midst of dead rotting petals and small budding ones.
The ones we saw, the Rafflesia Cantleyi, were fairly huge (roughly 56cm in diameters across) yet were relatively baby small in comparison to the rest of the Rafflesia family. It didn't stink as much either, which was a little dissapointing as I expected a major stinkfest in the vacinity... which was why I brought pollution masks along. heh.

It royally stinks when you sniff the inside. Almost blew me to the next universe when I did.

Ratan fruit. So blinkingly sour.

And since a trekking trip is never quite complete without good food in the end, we drove to Ipoh town to have de-li-cious dinner before going home!
Then we got lost -again- trying to find our way out of Ipoh. lol.
